What's Included?
The Vision 2030 Bond Program is focused on transforming Odessa College through six key projects designed to meet the evolving priorities of students, local industries, and the broader Odessa community.

Workforce Center
At the heart of our vision is the Workforce Building, a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to providing cutting-edge training and education in high-demand fields. This building will serve as a hub for career-focused programs, ensuring that our students gain the practical skills and hands-on experience required to thrive in today's competitive job market. By aligning our educational offerings with the needs of local industries, the Workforce Building will play a crucial role in driving economic growth and job creation in the Permian Basin.

Community Health & Wellness Center
The Community Health & Wellness Center will function as a central hub for recreation and wellness in Odessa. The facility will offer a variety of programs and activities, catering to individuals and families across all age groups. It will provide resources that support physical fitness and recreational activities, aimed at enhancing the well-being of both students and the broader community.

Child Development & Care Center
Recognizing the importance of early childhood education, the Vision 2030 Bond Program includes the expansion of our Child Development and Care Center. Relocating to the Jack Rodgers Fine Arts building will allow the center to double in size, offering enhanced services and resources for young children. This dedicated facility will provide a nurturing environment where children can learn and grow, supporting families across the community and laying a strong foundation for future success.

Fine Arts Center & Performance Venue
The new Fine Arts Center will be a cultural hub for Odessa, providing students and community members with a space to explore and express their creativity. This modern facility will include performance venues, galleries, and rehearsal spaces, fostering artistic talent and enriching the cultural fabric of our community. We aim to not only support our students' creative endeavors but also bringing people together through shared cultural experiences.

Academic Building
The Vision 2030 academic building project is designed to enhance the general learning environment at Odessa College. The new facility will provide modern classrooms, flexible learning spaces, and resources aimed at supporting student success and fostering academic achievement across various disciplines.

Business and Innovation Center
The Business Innovation Center, located in downtown Odessa, aims to be a dynamic business and entrepreneurial hub. It will house our business students and offer startup incubators and meeting spaces, creating a vibrant center for learning, collaboration, and launching new ventures in downtown Odessa.
Modernization & Compliance
The Vision 2030 Package also focuses on addressing deferred maintenance and modernization across Odessa College. The Growth and Programs projects are designed to expand our educational offerings and create new opportunities for students and the community. Simultaneously, the Infrastructure and Compliance projects prioritize essential upgrades, ensuring our facilities meet modern standards and operate efficiently.

Infrastructure & Compliance

Campus Security & IT Improvements
We are committed to strengthening campus security and upgrading our IT infrastructure.

MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Improvements
Wilkerson Hall and Sedate Hall will undergo significant MEP upgrades to improve energy efficiency, comfort, and functionality. These enhancements will ensure our buildings meet modern standards and provide a better learning environment for our students.

Campus Chiller Loop and Site Water/Sewer Improvements
Upgrading the campus chiller loop and improving site water and sewer systems are critical for maintaining efficient and reliable campus operations. These projects will enhance the overall sustainability and resilience of our infrastructure.

Electronics Technology Building Renovation
The renovation of the Electronics Technology Building will provide state-of-the-art facilities for our technical programs. This upgrade will support cutting-edge education and training for our students, preparing them for careers in rapidly evolving fields.

New Multi-Level Parking Garage (North) and Campus-wide Parking Improvements
Addressing parking needs is a top priority. The new multi-level parking garage on the north side of campus, along with campus-wide parking lot improvements, will provide ample, convenient parking for students, faculty, and visitors, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

Closure of Robertson Avenue and Surface Improvements
Closing Robertson Avenue to through traffic and implementing surface improvements will create a safer and more pedestrian-friendly campus. This project will enhance the overall campus environment and improve connectivity between facilities.

New Campus Center Freezer Storage Building
To support our dining services and campus operations, a new freezer storage building will be constructed. This facility will ensure we can meet the growing needs of our campus community effectively.

Campus-wide Wayfinding & Branding
Improving wayfinding and campus branding will create a more navigable and cohesive campus experience. New signage, maps, and branding elements will help students, staff, and visitors easily find their way around campus and foster a stronger sense of community identity.

Deaderick Hall & Auditorium (Abatement & Demo)
The abatement and demolition of Deaderick Hall and Auditorium will make way for future development and modernization of campus facilities. This project is a crucial step in our ongoing efforts to maintain and enhance our campus infrastructure.
Childcare Expansion & Improvements
Odessa College is committed to supporting our students, faculty, and community members by providing exceptional childcare services. As part of Vision 2030, we are excited to announce the expansion and enhancement of our childcare facilities to better serve the needs of our growing community.

​Jack Rodgers - New Child Development and Care Center
The current Children's Center, located within Sedate Hall, spans 10,600 square feet. By relocating to the Jack Rodgers Fine Arts building, the Child Development and Care Center will double in size, providing significantly more space and resources for our childcare programs. This expansion will allow us to offer a greater range of services and accommodate more families, ensuring that every child receives the care and attention they deserve.
Reimagined Facility with a Distinct Identity
The new facility will be designed exclusively for childcare, allowing it to establish its own unique identity separate from other campus functions. This dedicated space will feature state-of-the-art classrooms, play areas, and support facilities, creating an environment that fosters the growth and development of young children. By focusing solely on childcare, the center will be able to provide specialized programs and activities tailored to the needs of our youngest community members.
